Allow me to introduce myself…
My name is Dr Anh-Thong Nguyen. I was born in Vietnam and grew up in Sydney. I am passionate about photography, particularly portrait and travel photography. I also love traveling, skiing, scuba diving and playing with my little girl!
I’m also a dentist…
I received a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney with honours in 2000. Since then I have been working as a general dentist both locally and abroad.
I have continued to further hone my skills gaining a Graduate Diploma from the University of Adelaide and Masters of Aesthetic Dentistry from the prestigious Kings College London and am active member of the International Team for Implantology as well as the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics.
I love my job and it shows. I am excited and proud every time I do something that helps my patients, be it cleaning stained teeth, placing a beautiful filling, cosmetic enhancements or surgically removing a wisdom tooth.
I have gained a wealth of experience in all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry, but always feel there is more to learn.
I believe that oral health is a critical part of overall health. Accessing high quality dental treatment should be simple and easy for everyone.
My vision is to offer my patients the highest quality care as well as an experience that is as stress free and as enjoyable as possible.
I aim to create an environment that is relaxed, friendly and welcoming, where you are not just another customer. A place where I would be happy to treat my friends and loved ones.
When choosing the right treatment for my patients I am simply guided by the philosophy that I would recommend only what I would have in my own mouth.
I try to think “if that were me or someone in my family, what would I do?” and use that as a starting point for the planning process. Then I discuss with my patients what their priorities are for their oral health.
I believe that patients should have full control of their treatment and be active in the planning stage of their treatment. I believe in working together with my patients to help them achieve their goals, be that keeping teeth as long as possible, enhancing their smile for cosmetic reasons or even just to improve their oral hygiene.
I believe that dental treatment should involve more than just filling broken teeth and that dentists should treat the whole person rather than just the mouth. I practice Total Oral Health.
Doing the ideal dental treatment requires that we use the latest technology, materials and techniques. At my practice we do just that.
Digital x-rays mean that we reduce radiation to patients and staff as well as being able to show patients their x-rays almost immediately without the use of harmful chemicals.
Digital intra-oral photographs to help patients see in their mouth and help with understanding the problem.
Modern restorative techniques means using the latest materials that science has to offer and never settling for second rate quality. I almost never use amalgam (old silver fillings) in my practice as there is almost always a better modern alternative.
State of the art equipment is used, from the patient chair to the fibre-optic dental handpieces.
Communication is important. Our fully computerized practice allows patients to contact us electronically. This allows patients to correspond with us more conveniently. However, if you prefer the old telephone, we are happy to hear from you!
Being a computerized practice we can minimize our paper waste and impact on the environment.
We take this very seriously. Our own family and friends are treated here and we want them to be safe and secure in the knowledge that we do everything that is required (and more) to prevent the spread of infection.
We follow the NSW Health Infection Control guidelines making sure that as much as possible, everything is sterilized or disposable. Once sterilized in our hospital grade autoclave, instruments are kept sealed in sterile pouches until they are used.
A Warm Welcome
I would like to invite you to contact us and let us help you on the way to achieving and maintaining your total oral health.
